Polyurethane Glues

I know that some of you use polyurethane glues for gluing up neck laminations.

I'm wondering if any of you have seen or tryed this glue



There is an article on waterproof glues in the June/July 2006 woodsmith magazine and they showed this glue and it's claim as a low-foaming poly glue.

Thought I would share it if you haven't heard of it or tryed it, maybe worth something to someone.

i've never used pu glue on an instrument, nor have i seen this one before.

i know mario was using pu to bond his cf laminated braces, can't remember which one he was using.

I use Elmer's "ProBond". It's proving consistent and reliable. I also use PU glues for some RW back joins.

The thing that caught my eye about this glue was the low-foaming of it. May be inferior glue mind you, but looking at the manufacuters history, it might be worth checking out. Wish I could get it in Canada.

The low foaming may be good in some joins, but even the regular foam doesn't bother me. I often read that people are turned off of PU glues because of the foaming, and I always ask myself why.... It cleans off easily, because once dry it scrapes and sands readily...

I have to wonder what they modified in order to produce this low foam version? As always, there is no free lunch; something has to be sacrificed in order to gain something else.
